A Father to the Fatherless

A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.

Psalm 68:5

Yesterday was Father’s Day, mixed in with all the celebratory wishes to their dads, I also came across heartbreaking posts from those missing a father. Some miss their father because they passed away, or lived great distances away and time is running out. Others are missing something they only experienced for a short period of time, if at all. So today as you look thru social media, be sure to check on your friends, some of them are not ok after holidays like this. I am not asking you to diminish your joy over celebrating your father. Instead I am asking you to honor your father by showing others the love of Christ. To show compassion, to encourage them the way your father has encouraged you. Exemplifying Christ in action.

  1. Do not turn a blind eye to those who are hurting
  2. Pray and ask God for a word of encouragement
  3. Share that word of encouragement
