Everybody who knows me, knows I love to cook. I also love to take recipes and put my own spin on them. Sometimes they turn out great and sometimes not, but the ones that do, I keep and share.

So for a quick and easy week night dinner, try these Glorified Onion Pork Chops. Prep time is about 10 minutes, cooking time is about 25 to 30 minutes and it serves six.

Ingredients (original):
1 tbs. veg. oil
6 bone-in pork chops, ½ thick
½ cup chopped onion
1 can condensed cream of celery soup (I use fat-free)
½ cup water

Ingredients (I added):
A splash of red cooking wine or any red wine you have
Garlic powder
Pepper to taste
Celery Salt

Directions: Sprinkle Garlic powder, pepper and celery salt onto chops. Heat oil in 12” pan and brown on both sides. Remove and then cook onion until tender. Return chops, stir in soup, water and wine. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and cook until chops are done.

These pair well with a green vegetable and mashed potatoes. To save time on a busy week night, I buy store-bought mashed potatoes.
