Fall is on the way and what better way to usher its arrival in than with a classic Salted Caramel Apple Cake! And just in time to use some of those lovely fall apples.
3 apples, peeled, cored and cut into 8 wedges each
4 Tbsp. unsalted butter
1 Cup brown sugar
1 Tsp. salt
8 Tbsp. unsalted butter, softened
1 Cup sugar
½ Tsp. salt
½ Tsp. vanilla
2 Tsp. baking powder
2 Cup half-and-half
Preheat oven to 350°F. Line 10” cake pan with parchment paper and coat with non-stick spray. Cook apples, butter, salt and brown sugar over med. heat until apples begin to soften. Pour into cake pan and arrange apples in desired pattern. Mix butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla & mix until smooth. Add dry ingredients and half-and-half. Mix until combined and smooth. Spread batter evenly over apples. Bake 40-45 mins. Cool slightly before inverting onto serving dish. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream. ENJOY!
